Reiki pronounced (Ray)Ki, is a special and distinct kind of (Ki).
(Ki) meaning Life Force Energy, translates the same as (Chi) in Nigerian (Qi) in Chinese, (Prana) in Sanskrit and (Ti) or (Ki) in Hawaiian.
(Rei) meaning Spiritual Wisdom is universal, meaning that Life Force energy is everywhere! (Ki) is also considered to be the primary energy of your emotions, thoughts and spiritual life. (Ki) defined as spiritually guided life force energy consciousness, yet Reiki is not a religion. Positive, healthy thoughts (Genki) strengthen your Qi, whereas unhealthy, negative thoughts (Byoki) weaken your Qi.
(Ki), influenced by your mind, is thought to be the underlying energy of everything that exists.
Science calls it “bio-electromagnetic” “biofield energy” or “energy medicine.”

Reiki is also known as energy medicine. Energy medicine includes hands on energy healing, chakra healing, chakra balancing, chakra energizing, homeopathy, acupuncture, massage, magnet therapy, bio-electromagnetic therapies, electrodermal therapy and applied kinesiology.
“Laying on of hands” is one of the oldest, most ubiquitous forms of healing known to humankind, having emerged independently among ancient cultures worldwide.
The Father of modern Western medicine, Hippocrates, refers to it as “the force which flows from many people’s hands.”
The Chinese place great importance on life force energy. They have studied Qi for thousands of years and have discovered that there are several different kinds of Qi.

Life has been given several names by various cultures. Reiki is referred to as life force energy. It is also known as the vital life force or the universal life energy. When it dies or passes on, the life energy departs.

Reiki is used in Tai Chi and Martial Arts for physical training and mental development. It is also used in meditative breathing exercises, such as pranayama, and by the shamans of all cultures for divination, psychic awareness, manifestation and healing. Reiki is a non-physical energy used by all Healers.
Life force energy is present all around us and can be accumulated and guided by the mind.
Russian researcher Semyon Kirlian, developed a method in the 1940s known as Kirlian photography, which consists of photographing the field of life force energy that surrounds a person and is referred to as your Aura!
Reiki healing and how it relates to the Chakra System
The chakras were well understood at least 5,000 years ago in Hindu, Vedic, and Tibetan cultures. Although Reiki and the chakras come from different spiritual and cultural traditions, they have many things in common. Traditional Chinese Medicine bases its entire practice of acupuncture on the (Etheric Energy Meridians) located throughout the body, as our chakras are related to our meridian system. Reiki assists to bring the chakras into alignment and balance. No chakra works independently of the other chakras, they are all part of the whole energy system. Each chakra has a role in balancing some aspect of our life physically, emotionally, mentally, energetically, ethereally and spiritually.
